Whats the Difference between Boudoir, Kink/BDSM/Fetish, Erotica, and Art Nude Photography?

Jun 30, 2024

When delving into the world of nude and sensual photography – most people are curious what the difference is between the different styles and what they have to offer. The biggest question you need to answer for yourself is – how do you want your images to reflect you? Do you want to see yourself empowered and beautiful? Raw and intimate? Expressing your kink? Or your most private sexual self?

Boudoir

Boudoir Photography is open to all adult clients, including couples. The goal is to create images that showcase an empowered, beautiful, and sensual you. Not just in a bedroom location either – boudoir can be outdoors, in a private library, anywhere you’d like to express yourself! Clothing can be as revealing or modest as you’d like and there are no actual or implied sex acts – the intent is more to reflect back a beautiful and strong you in your images. You may bring hats, shoes, gloves, jewlery, etc. Props you can not include would be things like ropes, whips, handcuffs, and so on.

Kink, BDSM, and Fetish

Kink and BDSM and Fetish photography are all closely related – lets explore the differences.

  • Kink is a fun thing that individuals or couples like to incorporate in their play time, whereas a fetish is required for an individual to come to climax during a sexual act – both of these can be great to explore in photography! Usually props are involved and I ask for a completed boundary setting form. This usually requires a 2257 form on my end – which means I will need a photo of your ID and to keep all images on file for 7 years – these are very discretely stored and not accessed unless required. After all the boring legal stuff – its time for you to play! We can discuss how you’d like to express your kink or fetish creatively, or just go with the flow – either way I am here for it! You are welcome to bring a non participating friend to assist you if needed, or a studio assistant can be hired as an add-on service.
  • BDSM can include some kink and fetish elements – but specifically includes elements of bondage, domination & submission scenes, impact play, movement restriction, breath restriction, ropes or shibari and some elements of actual or implied sexual acts. This category always requires a 2257 form on my end, including a photo of your ID and long term storage of all images. If what you wish to be photographed requires a helping hand to tie you up, fasten a clasp, drip, or apply – you are free to bring a non participating friend to assist, or a studio assistant can be hired as an add-on service.

Erotica

Erotica sessions are the most sexually explicit and always include actual or implied sex acts. Here you are welcome to explore your most sexual nature. Most erotic sessions start with boudoir and move into art nudes and eventually a full sexual experience. A boundary setting form is always required as well as 2257 documentation on my end (so a photo of your ID, and my long term storage of your images). Solo, couples, and thruples are welcome and you can add other individuals to your party for a fee. If you need extra assistance you are welcome to bring a non-participating friend or have a studio assistant hired as an add-on service. The session will be halted if anyone steps outside the boundaries set before the session but you’re welcome to book additional sessions if theres something new you wish to explore.
